This is the third part of my lesson series on music for A-Level Spanish, moving from traditional music in Spain to the rich musical traditions of the Dominican Republic and Argentina.
 
In this lesson, students first explore merengue, bachata and dembow, looking at their origins, development, characteristics and their role in Dominican identity. The lesson then moves to Argentina and introduces el tango, including its origins, cultural influences and distinctive choreography.
